In fact, there is no College Entrance Examination in Australia (rather it is the final year - Year 12 exam in each state.For example,in South Australia, in the final year 70% of student work is assessed by the school, with 30% assessed externally. There are more than 60 SACE subjects in nine areas of studying that students can select from in the final year of high school. Usually, high schools will offer dozens of courses for students to choose. In addition to compulsory subjects such as English (English as an Additional Language), international students can select subjects they enjoy and are good at, allowing all students to succeed.    澳洲的所谓高考在每年10月-11月，持续三周。和中国不同的是，澳洲的所谓高考没有国家统一命题和组织，而是由各州自己命题，分别出卷，分别决定考试时间，每个州都有自己对学校的评级标准。每个州高考成绩出来后，最后再由州相关机构对考试分数进行加权，得出考生的全澳通用的所谓高考分数ATAR（Australian Tertiary Admission Rank，澳大利亚高等教育录取排名），也就是各大学录取的标准分数。南澳州负责此项工作的是南澳州高等教育录取中心。 The so-called Australia's Gaokao period lasts three weeks, from October to November each year. Unlike China, the so-called Australia's "college entrance examination" does not have a unified national system, but each state has its examination board with their examination papers and schedule. Each state also has its grading system. After the exam results released, the examination board will finally caculate and convert students' results to ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank), which is the admission standard of each university.In South Australia,the cacaulation will be done by the South Australian Tertiary Admission Centre (SATAC).     在澳大利亚各州，完成高中学业并达到要求是入读大学的前提。在南澳州也就是你要取得南澳高中教育证书。 In Australia, students need to complete their high school studies and get their certificate to enrol in universities. In South Australia, completion of the SACE program is a prerequisite for entry to universities and other tertiary institutions.     什么是SACE？ What is SACE? 南澳大利亚州高中毕业证书英文全称是South Australian Certificate of Education ，简称 SACE 。 SACE stands for the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) SACE毕业证书由南澳州SACE 董事会颁发。南澳州SACE 董事会是一个独立的负责高中考试的法定机构。在南澳州，完成 SACE 课程是进入大学和其它高等院校的前提，该证书也给学生提供了就业路径（资格）。 The SACE Board issues the SACE. The SACE Board is an independent body recognized by the South Australian Government. In South Australia, completing the SACE program is a prerequisite for entry to universities and other tertiary institutions, and the certificate also provides students with a career path.  SACE 提供哪些科目？ 9个学习领域超过60门科目： 艺术 商业、企业和技术 跨领域科目 英语 健康和体育教育 人文与社会科学 外语 数学 科学-包括物理、生物和化学 一般学校不会开设所有课程，而是根据学生选课情况来安排。 What subjects does SACE offer? Over 60 subjects in 9 learning areas: Art Business, Enterprise and Technology Interdisciplinary subjects English Health and Physical education Humanities and Social Sciences Foreign Languages Mathematics Science – including Physics, Biology and Chemistry Generally, schools do not offer all courses, but arrange them according to students' course selection. 哪些是必修科目？如何才能拿到 SACE 证书？ 要拿到 SACE 证书，必须要修满200个学分。一个为期半年的课程是10学分，为期一年的课程是20学分。 必修科目有“个人学习计划”（10学分），英语/文学（20学分），数学/计算能力（10学分），研究项目（10学分）共计50学分。剩下的150学分，60学分必须是阶段2科目，还有90学分则阶段1、阶段2科目均可，或者是受 SACE 认可的其它渠道科目，如 VET （职业教育）课程。 What are the compulsory subjects? How can I get a SACE? To earn the SACE credential, you must complete 200 credits. A half-year course is 10 credits, and a one-year course is 20 credits. Compulsory subjects include "Personal Learning Plan (PLP)" (10 points), English/Literacy (20 points), Mathematics/Numeracy (10 points), and Research Project (10 points) for a total of 50 points. Of the remaining 150 points, 60 points must be Stage 2 subjects, and 90 points can be Stage 1, Stage 2 subjects, or other subjects recognized by SACE, such as Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses.   SACE 课程分为2个阶段： 阶段1：学生一般在11年级学习该类课程。 （个人学习计划科目除外，学生一般在10年级学习该科目。） Stage 1: Students generally study this type of course in Year 11. (Except for the Personal Learning Plan subject, which students typically study in Year 10.) 阶段2：学生一般在12年级学习该类课程。 阶段1科目的评分区间是A到E等级，A最高E最低，阶段2科目是A+到E-，A+最高，E-最低。学生要获得学分，阶段1课程成绩需达到C，阶段2课程成绩需达到C+。 Stage 2: Students generally study this type of course in Year 12. Stage 1 subjects are graded A to E, with A being the highest and E being the lowest, and Stage 2 subjects are A+ to E-, with A+ being the highest and E- being the lowest. For credit, students need to achieve a C in Stage 1 courses and a C+ in Stage 2 courses. SACE 科目的评分方式？ How are SACE subjects graded? 阶段1 科目是100%校内评分。 Stage 1 subjects are 100% school graded. 阶段2 科目70%来自校内评分，30%来自校外评分，由 SACE 董事会进行评分。 （校外测试根据科目的不同而不同，一般是笔试，如果是外语类科目，则有口试+笔试，还有一些科目则通过校外调研的方式。） Stage 2 subjects are graded 70% on-campus and 30% off-campus and are graded by the SACE Board. (Off-campus tests vary according to different subjects. Generally, it is a written test. In addition, there are oral and written tests if it is a foreign language subject. For some subjects, external research is conducted.)  从 SACE 到 ATAR From SACE to ATAR SACE成绩是地区性的，在进入全澳范围的高等学府继续求学时，南澳州每一位学生的SACE成绩会通过复杂的计算演变成一个全澳洲性的排名，即我们上面所提到的澳大利亚高等教育录取排名ATAR, 而ATAR分数则决定每位学生可以申请哪所大学。 The SACE score is regional. When entering a higher education institution in Australia, the SACE score of each student in South Australia will be converted to an Australian-wide ranking through complex calculations - the above mentioned ATAR, which determines if a student is eligible to apply for. 因澳洲各地高考政策不同，因此澳洲使用一个全国统一标准 ATAR。大学用ATAR 划定分数线来录取达标学生。 Due to the different Gaokao policies across Australia, Australia uses a nationally unified standard ATAR. Universities use the ATAR to set a cutoff for admitting students who meet the criteria.   关于澳大利亚高等教育录取排名 How the ATAR works  ATAR 是一个排名，不是分数。排名区间在0.00至99.95，获得99表示该学生成绩超过了当届99%的学生，排在全澳洲前1%；获得85表示该生成绩排全澳前15%。每年高校录取时，各大学校都会颁布自己学校的 ATAR 成绩要求。 ATAR is a ranking, not a score. The ranking range is from 0.00 to 99.95. A score of 99 means that the student's performance exceeds 99% of the students in the current class, ranking in the top 1% of Australia; a score of 85 means that the student's score ranks in the top 15% of the country.
